This course
will equip delegates with the skills and knowledge required to correctly
prepare shipments of dangerous goods for transport by air. The course
features practical exercises, real-life examples and encourages
delegate participation.

At the end
of the course, delegates will be able to:
- List their legal responsibilities
- Locate information from all sections and appendices of the IATA
Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Determine which Dangerous Goods are forbidden for air transport
and the quantity limits for those goods, which are eligible for
travel on passenger aircraft and cargo aircraft
- Locate State and Operator Variations and correctly apply the
information accordingly
- Classify a consignment of Dangerous Goods and identify the precedence
of hazards and the packing groups
- Select a Proper Shipping Name from the List of Dangerous Goods
- Locate and identify information shown on the Shipper's Declaration
and the Air Waybill
- Select the correct packing using the Packing Instructions and
the General Packing Requirements
- Correctly mark and label a package in compliance with Dangerous
Goods Regulations
- Identify which Dangerous Goods must be segregated and calculate
the quantity limits when packing different Dangerous Goods in
one package
- Complete a Dangerous Goods Acceptance Check List

Certification Course

This course
will enable delegates to deal confidently with all aspects of the
transport of radioactive material by air.
We deal
with the "mystery" surrounding radioactive material and
encourages discussion, whilst offering practical exercises aimed
at providing all delegates with the skills and knowledge to confidently
offer and check such shipments for transport.
At the end
of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Locate key information in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Correctly package a shipment
- Correctly label a package
- Complete the shippers declaration
- Check shipments for full compliance with the regulations
- Confidently apply the regulations to their jobs

CARRIAGE
OF DANGEROUS GOODS BY SEA
(2 days)
This course is designed to make delegates aware of the regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods by sea. The course is suitable for those that need a detailed knowledge of the regulations.
With the explosions and fire on the Hyundai Fortune in 2006 which many experts believe was caused by dangerous goods, we look at this specific incident and try to draw lessons from the information available. We also examine the repercussions of the recent events surrounding the dangerous goods aboard the MSS Napoli in the English Channel.
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

Understand the IMDG code – how it is structured, where to find topics, what the code requires

Use the code as a day to day reference and understand what you look up
