A course to teach delegates how to correctly prepare shipments of dry ice for transport by air & road.

Who should take this course?

This course is ideal for delegates who are only involved in the shipment of dry ice (UN 1845). The course will cover everything you need to know to compliantly ship dry ice including the packing, labelling, marking and documentation required.

Qualification

The course is fully approved in the UK by the Civil Aviation Authority and the Irish Aviation Authority, and concludes with a validation. Successful candidates receive a certificate of competence, valid for two years, after which they must revalidate their qualification. 

By the end of this course delegates will be able to:

  • Locate key information from all sections of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
  • Correctly package, mark and label a consignment in compliance with IATA regulations
  • Correctly complete dangerous goods documentation (Shipper’s declaration)

  • Classification focusing on Class 6.2 Infectious Substances and Class 9 Miscellaneous dangerous goods – UN 1845 Dry ice / Carbon dioxide, solid

  • Packing requirements for dry ice
  • Labelling of dry ice packages UN 3373 Biological Substances and patient specimens
  • Documentation for dry ice shipments
