The March 2025 Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) exams saw significant changes. With all candidates having received their results in recent weeks, now is a good time to reflect on the impact of the changes implemented by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) on the qualification process.
Clearer Results
The most significant change candidates will notice is the introduction of performance reports. For the first time, candidates that took the exams in March will have received their mark – a significant change from the arbitrary pass or fail.
Critically, for candidates that don’t quite make the pass mark – they are left with information to support a more targeted approach to resits and a clearer view of their strengths.
Booking Now Conducted Through GOV.UK
Another significant change is the move to a booking form hosted on the official GOV.UK website. The exam is still run by the Scottish Qualification Authority, but other elements are now being controlled directly by the DVSA.
